IF i raise the stop bar tailpiece on a LP type guitar, would it make the guitar bend strings easier?

i know it would make the strings feel looser, but will it make the bending strings better?

and how does it compare with wrapping around the tailpiece vs raising tailpiece?

Re: Quick question about stopbar tailpiece

I've done everything, I've noticed no difference

Re: Quick question about stopbar tailpiece

Raising your stop bar will decrease the break angle on the strings. This is usually not a good thing. In order for the string to resonate properly the break angle needs to be pretty steep. Tail wrapping has mixed reviews, some people swear by it and others hate it?? I tried it and I felt it decreased sustain on my Les Paul. Now if you have a Nashville bridge it could help. The Nashville style bridges break angle is a touch too severe, so raising the stop should help but I have seen where it doesn't. The strings can actually touch the bridge behind the saddle. Not a bad thing in most cases but it could cause strings to break. If your guitar has an ABR bridge well no problem. Wrapping the strings could help, but I just can't get past the sloppy feeling in the strings(just my preference). When I tried wrapping my guitar the strings felt sloppy and I just felt that the sustain was lacking. Now it could have been my imagination or maybe me just talking myself out of it, but when I restrung the guitar normally it was all there.
