Quick Review of SPINA SD-1!

To say the least, it's awesome...I really like this box...I will admit, this is technically a honeymoon review since I've had it for only a few minutes, but my initial impressions are superb...It sounds KINDA like a Tubescreamer, except FULLER, more lows, less midhump, and an overall different and better EQ.

I also have the Spina DS-1, and in comparison, I like my SD-1 much more and it suits me much better. The DS-1 has WAYYYY more gain. Both are great, but they are very different. I recommend ( :duh: ) the DS-1 for higher gain, even metal, but for more balanced, delicious, lovely, smoother gain, I would go for the SD-1...Plus it has a pimp yellow box!:offtopic:

The SD-1 is VERY full, without being too thick or too chunky. It works well with both singles and hums, but so far I am having the most fun with my Little 59 in the bridge of my Strat. I give this pedal two thumbs up and my recommendation.

Thanks for the review...Are you just now getting the SD1,or has it just taken you this long to play through it? Thought I was a busy guy!?

I've had mine for a few weeks now. I've built my rig AROUND this pedal.
It rocks! Everything ive ever wanted in an OD pedal, and more!

Fuzzy feels his SD1 might be a bit noisey? Maybe you guys could hook up and compare your SD1s before fuzzy ships his back to me? I'd hate to see him without his pedal, especially if the pedal is ok.
