So my distortion sounds better before my wah, my wah sounds terrible after the dist. Any handy hints to get the best of both worlds?

What is the wah? Some wah's suck tone, maybe true-bypass modding it will solve the problem?

BTW what do you mean with dist before wah sounds better, when both are engaged? Or when the distortion alone is engaged?
And what about the wah being terrible after the dist? Is it with the dist engaged or without it being on?

When the distortion is on the wah loses its organicness, and goes from mush to eye-piercing shrill with nothing in-between.

That's never worked for my tone in the past...
