You Are kind. Listen to Gillian and David's version. I dig the song. First heard Jimmy Buffet cover it on Radio Margaritaville. Then googled it. Found Gillian that way. Very thankful I got turned on to her.

You are far too modest, "and I'm not just kissing ass," I'm comparing the two. You have a Johnny Cash way about it that just fits....Perfect!

She's so anti-mainstream country. I think she's pretty in her own way but not these Barbie doll cookie cutter types we see being presented to us as the next great thing

I grew up hating.country music. Now those rebels and renegades are calling my name.

To me, there are a handfull of perfect songs out there. This is one,
Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah, Jacobs Dream by Alison Krauss, and Ralph Stanley's, Pretty Polly.

You put this one down. I'm on about my 15th listen to your's. Awesome job!

I'm a metal head at heart.

Very interesting! The way I found out about here was through another artist as well. It was Kathy Mattea's "455 Rocket." I don't think it was a cover, but Welch/Rawlings wrote it and Mattea did it.

I'm not a big country guy or maybe I'd have known who she was. First time I heard her and downloaded some turns, my wife thought it was Nora Jones. Not quite but very soulful. Voice got stuck in my head, now I own five of her albums. (Does anyone call them albums any more?)
