R7's and R8's are steals now!

Re: R7's and R8's are steals now!

I bought a used R7 for $1700 2 years ago and used that as my main stage guitar for a year...then I got out of the band and started flipping gear! Would love to have that guitar back but can't find that deal again. Most people are asking $2K and up for their used ones. I've had a few R7s and that one was special.

I have seen some VERY nice used plaintop R8s for around $2300 and some GC R0s in the $2000 range.

Then again, this 2007 VOS R8 in vintage red only cost me $2200 BRAND NEW back in April. It's got a couple of minor dings on the edge of the headstock so that allowed me to get it.

Hey Phil, I didn't know you had a red R8 too...

Dave, I love the "R"s. I've had some goldtops and those are classy looking, but right now I've got the Oxblood that I've had for a few years and just picked up the red R8 in April at the House of Guitars.

You've got a red R7 or R8 too, don't you? Honestly, I love them all except the real flamey ones and the bursts!

You ok Odie???:wow:

Nah, I always had love for the Reissues and I think they are real decent guitars but, the problem with them is, they are still usually overpriced IMO. I guess it beats the usual Gibson overpriced and a P.O.S. at the same time.

I remember your Oxblood pic was the only one I've seen that shows the real color of it.

I've got the flamey Red R8. I used to have a red plaintop R8- that was supposed to be a "replica" of the George Harrison "Lucy" LP. It was just a red R8 plaintop without a LP screen, Grovers, Bigsby and I think it had a "Custom" truss rod cover. Otherwise it was center seamed and it was a uniform "heritage cherry red" across the top.

Here's my 98 R8-
