Racing stripes on a strat. Yes, but where?

Howdy. I want to add a white competition stripe vinyl decal to my incoming daphne blue strat.

It feels like there are a gazillion ways to go about it and I was wondering if any of you had tried or if you had an opinion.

These are the variants I found:

Most popular - top of arm rest

Kenny WS style

Bottom

I've always liked them going across the bass side perpendicular to the pickups. That way you can see more of it.

My first guitar was a ‘69 Competition Mustang, Dakota Red. Looked just like that one, but despite that, the KWS style is my favorite.

I really like it too but I think doing the cutaway with a decal would be challenging and ultimately look like crap. I hope to be wrong though

I really want a comp. orange, mostly fine with my Daphne 66 though. Your comp wouldn't have been Dakota, stock they were metallic blue (called 'burgundy,) candy red or orange.

It looks weird to me when the stripes are covered by the pickguard, so I'd vote armrest.

I would put the perpendicular to the neck across the lower bout. Maybe its because on my car they go around the trunk but to me it looks off when this style of racing strip goes along the length. They should go up and over.
