Rackmount delays

Something Cool
What's the most well-liked rackmount delay for guitarists?

Looks like you should just get as high a number after a Roland SD-xxxx?

Re: Rackmount delays

I bought a Digitech RDS 3.6 about 25 years ago and I still use it to this day! No need for anything else for my needs.....

Re: Rackmount delays

I have a roland sde-2500, works great. I use my dd-2 more though, but the sde2500 does do more. It has modulation, and if I use it, I set it up as part of a wet/dry rig and use it as a chorus. It also has a SICK flanger sound. It's my favorite delay, but it's kinda 80's sounding lol.

Re: Rackmount delays

What about the venerable old Alesis Microverb? Am looking for one fullspace rackmount unit now.

Re: Rackmount delays

Depends what type of delay you like, pristine or warm.
Pristine... TC or Lexicon
Warm ... Chandler rackmount delay. ( incredible delay )

I use a Quadraverb GT with my Marshall TSL. Programming the damn thing is a pain in the ass but you can do some interesting things with it. It's a lot of bang for the buck as you can usually find them dirt cheap. I also use a nanoverb in the loop of my Recto for reverb.

Re: Rackmount delays

Man, can you even get a straight up rack delay any more????

I think everything is a delay/verb/chorus multi affair these days.
