Badgerplex 1011 (AIWA 1011 reel-to-reel preamp)

Great job as usual! One of the weaker Rainbow releases, but this is still a good song that worth knowing, and the tone here is really close.

How much does the reel-to-reel preamp add to the sound?

Thanks - the 1011 adds a lot to the sound; the right frequencies of midrange, while boosting somewhat.

The 1011 preamp was used with later Deep Purple albums and the 1st run of Rainbow in the 70's.

I used this particular (1011) tone with this song (he used an ENGL Savage 120; the precursor to his custom ENGL Blackmore 150) because I thought it sounded better.
