Has anyone played these?? I did a search and see some mentioned, but no reviews. A bud of mine has told me they are about the ultimate shred tool and he just bought one so, I may get to lay my mitts on it. I know there were only about 50 or 60 made.

D@mn man, you're on fire!

I didn't even know there were Rand guitars. Ah heck, they do look cool though don't they? :naughty:

Re: Rand guitars

There's Ran and Rand. They are indeed favored among shredders.

However, depending on who you talk to, any guitar is the ultimate shredding tool, so be sure to take those comments as lightly as possible.

Re: Rand guitars

There was one on sale on Kramer Forum a month ago or so. Vivian Campbell played one if I remember correctly among others. They look amazing, if not a little fragile from the very thin headstock. Tough to find so good luck. Expect to pay quite a bit for it

Re: Rand guitars

Well, my buddies Rand was delivered to me yesterday. The thing is $%#$@%# amazing! Oh my!! The neck is very thin and wicked fast, action is very low. Playing is a breeze. Excellent guitar for shred, as upper fret access is wide open and there are like 36 frets on the high strings..

I did a side by side comparo to my WM526 as that guitar is built for shred too and has the most robust unplugged sound and sustain of any trem equipped guitar Ive ever played.. My Only complaint about the WM526 is the neck is alil wider than I prefer. But, it gives plenty of room for all styles.
Having said that, I was thrilled with the way my baby held its own against the high dollar contender!!
I hit some open strings (low e, High e and others) and timed them to decay. They each had a good 40 seconds or more before decay under high gain. The Rand is VERY impressive in the way it plays and just the hand built feel, but I prefer the feel of the Carbon epoxy board on my Washie and the the WM526 has a more complex sound playing chords and more low end.
The Rand is a beast! Id Love to have one, but cant justify the price. But, if I was a hot gun shredder, Id definately try to get one.. Do like the 80s rockers did, crash on some chick's couch and get her to buy me one.. haha

Im gonna Hate having to send this one on to its owner...
