Hello everyone,
I'm assuming this is going to be hard to diagnose, but worth a shot. I am getting VERY random pops from my rig. In roughly 25 hours of play on this new amp (I've owned it 2 weeks) it's occurred twice. It's loud and extremely annoying when it does happen.
I've taken my effects board out of the loop to test that angle. I do have a dodgy MXR 10 band EQ that pops super loud if i turn it on while the amp is running, but never heard it pop while that pedal was actually on. Could an older pedal randomly pop even while on? I've played for an hour after taking the board out of the loop and have had no pops yet. Its so random, though! I feel like I am peeing up a rope here.
Problem is, I have 45 days to get a replacement from Guitar Denter so I'm a bit crunched to get this diagnosed. I have half a feeling to just go ahead and get a replacement since this didn't start until I got the new amp.
The amp is a 5150 EL34 50 watt head.
Appreciate any help
