What a great informational topic. I hadn't heard of Rhodes before, I thought that it was Alfred King who helped Jim Marshall Hendrix to create the 1959.

I can't say that I support any of this other nonsense, but you have to at least take a little responsibility for the situation. Forums don't go in one direction, it's more of a give/take situation. When you ask questions like you do, people get annoyed or angry. I usually ignore your posts for that very reason.

To answer Walters' question:

Cascade preamps were used by Vox in the early 40's, when they made amplifiers for radio and grammophone use. Contrary to common beliefs, Cascade preamps did not use valves, neither transistors. Cascades are mechanical\electrical devices designed by bassist Jack Casady, and uses the principles of physics to amplify an electric signal. Vox stopped using Cascades in their amplifiers when they discovered the vacuum tube, and the old Vox Cascade amps are therefore sought after by collectors.
