Raven All For One...

I know i post one of these threads once every couple of weeks, but
i was just curious if anyone knew what pickups & amps were used for the rhythm tone on the All For One album? I love the tonal characteristics on that album... true metal sound.
This is one that never comes up anywhere in any discussions & there is a huge lack of info on this band on the net in general, which is just criminal IMO.

I was just listening to the song "Mind Over Metal". Great guitar sound, though I have no idea what he's using. (Though it does sound like a master volume Marshall).

Yeah they had the thrash metal sound, actually pre-dating thrash metal itself though. Actually to get more specific, they had the Kill Em All sound on that album before Kill Em All was even released. Love the over the top vocal aswell LOL. One of my favorite metal bands of all time.

John from Raven just sent me a message & this is what he had to say about their tone on All For One...

"HI!
Mark used a 1969 Fender Telecaster with a single coil seymour
duncan bridge pickup..and an ESP telecaster also with a seymour duncan bridge pickup & a strat style trem. amps were Carlsbro Stingray lead amps, and cabinets were "rock city music" 4x12 cabinets - similar to the "orange" cabinets
the carlsbro amps are solid state with a cool distortion sound and Mark only started using Mesa Boogie from 1997 onwards as he feels the lead sounds has more air & harmonics..
but thats it...oh - he used an octave pedal on a few songs..!

Oh & the Seymour Duncan pickup Mark used was a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in the bridge of his Tele.
