RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

i'll listen when i get back home, your stuffs always good.

dont worry about getting lost man, Rids backing tracks are huge, 3 or 4 minutes long some of em, i dunno how he keeps it going

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Hey that's pretty good. You kept you timing right through (more than I can do).

You
should do more of that sort of stuff.

BTW I just had another listen to your original clip - that tapping is pretty neat. Like the whole clip actually.

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Yeah, I think I should do more clip without a safety net, I actually liked it. I really focused a lot on the timing... the chops suffered from it. It's hard to concentrate on the timing and be very creative at the same time... it's an art actually. Like Rid and other does...

Thanks Lee... still, I think that I'm a kind of person who prefer polished stuff... even when it doesn't sound like so. My Stoney clip sounded more raw, yet it required more polishing work that the taping thing, which is more a question of speed and execution. The true talent is to polish without removing any spontaneity to the piece.

More to come... well I have to work a little also, othewise I'll have to sell the guitar :)

The joy of being a freelancer in a home office. No boss to piss you off... but no boss to force you into production when you're too lousy. Still I'm free as a bird :D

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Thanks Nuntius... and I used the "allegedly" crappy Ibanez neck pickup on this one... it's very decent actually. Plugged into my Boss SuperOverdrive and the Twin (Fender) model of my Tech21. Pretty good tone for a quick shot without thinking about it. I'd like to put an alnico II Pro in there some time... or maybe my Pearly Gates if I can't get rid of it. Maybe it'll sound better in this guitar.

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

I love this one. See we all think too much. Just relax and play!

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Well I start to think you're right guys, maybe I think too much and want to organize my playing to neatly. I should let go a little :)

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

That is very nice playing. It fit perfectly and the guitar tone is perfect for this type of thing. Well done.

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Wow, you have a great feel and vibe. It's amazing the tone you got with your equipment too. You definitely must like similar stuff to me, because I was digging it :)

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Well, thank you all guys, I'm a little surprised of the comments because I did not dare to post a one-taker before... I'll do more as soon as I get an inspiring track :)

the neck is really nice, quite thick. the guitar sounds great on its own, really thick

the trem isnt amazing, i dont use it at all anymore, but the pups could do with an upgrade. the neck is a little muddy and the bridge a little weak.

i got the guitar purely on the way it plays, and the fact it was 180 pounds (i was looking at a cheap backup guitar with a bridge hum at the time, and only other thing i saw was a pacifica)

Re: RAW clip! To my buddy Lee

Mine is a Korean made of course, a 2004 model. Quite impressive, I think I never had a better guitar, and at over $700 including taxes, this is more than enough. It certainly plays as good as any cheap gibson at twice the price (all the faded SG, Vs, Studios...).

The neck pup is now gone, I installed my old Pealy Gates today... you'll hear it very soon :)
