Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
My raw, campy goregrind side-project (with elements of doom, shred, experimental metal etc thrown in) that I've had going off & on for years with the singer from my regular doom band (he mostly does the vocals & I do the rest) has a new album coming up..

Been busy having the the whole thing (10 trax) remastered by "Thrakotool" on fivrr.com who also fixed up some of my crappiest sounding youtube loop pedal jams pretty nicely :lmao: ..& I really think he did a great job with these too. Considering they were recorded entirely on my Nux Loop Core pedal (Boss RC-3 clone) with fake "Bass" (pitch shifted guitar) & a cheap drum machine (Korg KR mini) in a month, they sound the best they're ever going to now I think.

Stuck some tacky samples in front and we're ready to go :laugh2: Artwork for the album is coming along nicely (just got the B & W draft which will soon be colored in..). The label guy OK'd everything too... it's going to be out in early 2017 sometime :D

Advance track / cheesy DIY video we just put up ..

All systems go :bigthumb:

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Goregrind with good sound quality always makes me happy. Kept me interested also, which isn't usually the case.

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Thanks...I've tried to vary things from from track to track as well on the rest of the album. The only thing holding it back a bit was the sound quality of our first masters...kinda muddy/dull. But I think it's nice and fat/bright/punchy now with the new masters.. (while still sounding mean & grimey/nasty haha) :bigthumb:

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Brilliant. I'd like to hear the guitar work more prominent in the mix.

ha..really? I only buried it so very far down in there 'cuz of my modesty ...I'd really hate for it to stand out too much :D

Thanks for giving it a listen though man..did'nt think it would be your sort of thing haha ...but then I'm all over the place with my tastes as well

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Dig it. This might be the first goregrind I've heard.

Thanks! Glad you like it ...but I'm using the term 'goregrind' loosely here (mostly for the vocals..). It does go all over the place otherwise (so maybe not that indicative of the genre really..). There's some great goregrind out there though :bigthumb:

Nothing wrong with genre crossing. I'll take Behemoth's blackened death over much of the kvlt stuff :)

Back in the forum's heyday, nothing like this would've been in tips & clips. **** like this being here makes me happy.

haha, yeah we could call it whatever ...could'nt care less lol :laugh2: I just tried to keep things interesting/catchy ...but also chaotic & sick :lmao:

Well, my partner in crime (vocalist) who posted this vid on his facebook page (I'm not on facebook myself..) said he's had a bunch of compliments/appreciation from old hippies as well as the younger/extreme metal crowd.. so it apparently cuts across lines haha ...nice to hear :)

...& yeah, It's great to experiment & try stuff that's different as far as styles & genres go.. I much prefer Behemoth's blackened death stuff myself.. ;)

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

I know what you mean. No two magazines/webzines seems to have referred to my band as the same sub-sub-sub genre. If djent is a thing, consider us "skrun".

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Cool - I might see what he can do with my last tune. Can't lose for five bux!

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Yeah ...he's a wiz.. a .wav file will cost you an extra five per track though (unless you're cool with mp3's)

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

And Extra $5 to export to a wav? hahaha that's a ****ing joke.

PLEASE tell me he's not mastering from an mp3

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..

Nah...he mastered from .wav's

that's the fiverr.com way..haha..if you look around you'll see how it works. You have a basic gig that's (usually) $5.00, but then they add on an extra $5.00 for just about everything/anything else at the drop of a hat..

(ie..he basically charges $10.00 per song..unless you're happy with an mp3.. :D)

Re: Re-mastered Goregrind Opus..
