Re-wiring a guitar..What to use, guage, type?

Mkay, i've assembled some nice pots, a cap etc. Re-doing the entire electronics. What kind of wire is suitable. Could i just go buy a few feet of George L thin red and be happy that i've done the best i possibly could...?

It's a strat now, but i'd like the same wire to be good for other humbuckers etc?

I use CAT5E strands. It souns good, is easy to work with, and, being an IT tech, I get tons of scrap free. ;)

Funny you should say that. I was reading on Belden's website, just the other day, about how well CAT-5 cable works for audio.

Wow, this thread got push so far south by all the "help me choose a pickup for my LP copy" threads... I almost missed it altogether.

Makes me wish there was a separate sub-room for thos kinds of pickup questions.

Unfortunately i live far from the online-shopping world, so i am forced to "make - a - plan"

I went off and bought 6 feet of thin George L's. That way i can forever repair my interlinks, and I wired my axe with it! And I've fooled myself into hearing a more lively, richer sound.

Ah, the power of autosuggestion...and cork-sniffing
