Reaper users, dragging multiple tracks.

How do I drag multiple tracks over (to the right) so I can add a part in the middle of a song? I don't want to drag them individually and have to line them up perfectly again.

Re: Reaper users, dragging multiple tracks.

Select the amount of space you would like to insert in the measures at the top of the window, then right click in the selection and select "Insert empty space in selection"

Re: Reaper users, dragging multiple tracks.

Portions of audio within a track are usually called Regions. It should be possible to lasso the relevant audio regions with the mouse (or trackpad) and drag them together, preserving the timing relationships between them. The automated "snap-to" edit function might help too.

Insert Measure, by definition, adds time between bar lines. If any of your audio overhangs the bar lines, the insert measure edit may divide it.

Occassionally that can add some unwanted attributes, especially if you want to do some wild things (change tempo during the new part, slow tempo of 30 tracks etc)

This won't as it's always dead-on:

- select all
- group all
- grid sync on
- split where you want to place the new part
- grab and toss the later group of clips where you want them
