rebuilt my Strat (Duncan/Callaham content)

Re: rebuilt my Strat (Duncan/Callaham content)

I dunno about hot rolled or cold rolled but the block on the EJ & the block on the usa reissues are NOT the same. The EJ is waaaay fatter. Bigger. Heavier. It's a big phat block & every '62 ri I've seen has a tapered block. Gets thinner where the strings go in.
Where's the pictures?!?

Those weren't recent reissues were they??

Some years ago Fender started tapering the blocks for added pitch drop but my 57/62 has the same size block as an EJ and it's also the same size as the Callaham as well as every recent CS Fender Strat i've played in recent years...

Anyway, pics are on the way...Im lazy but Im working on it...as well as the Jet!

Ok...pics...

A new shot showing the guitar as it is after it's second face lift...

A close up of the body with the new guard, guts and tremolo (note short arm!)

Ok, I was asked about the tremolo block sizes and such...here are a few shots that migt help...

This is the original 57/62 tremolo

The original 57/62 block from the back

and a side shot showing the blocks thickness

Now the Callaham is the same exact sizes but it does have a little more weight to it and is more "solid" if that makes sense...also, the string pokets are not as deep as the 57/62 which adds mass as well as helps prevent tuning issues, here is a (crappy) shot of the back of the Callaham block

You can also tell that the bar is a little shorter (which I LOVE).

Like I said I won't sit and debate if it sounds better or worse until I get a chance to somehow A/B them but I will say that it feels better, has little to no slop in it and stays in tune MUCH better.
