Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Looking for a reverb pedal that will add just a wee bit of air to my tone. I don't want anything to alter my tone, just livelyness. And something that won't break the bank.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Boss FRV-1 Fender Reverb. I can get that famous Fender reverb sound using this pedal.

I'll give a quick plug for the TC Electronics Hall of Fame. Seriously great pedal for all kinds of different reverb tones. I can't find anything wrong with it whatsoever.

+2

I only got mine because I found that I switched between the spring and plate so much I might as well get the Strymon Blue Sky so I can do it with my foot.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I love my Hermida Audio Reverb! It uses both analog and digital signals, and it sounds superb! I use this pedal exactly how you mentioned it, to give some air to my tone.

It is super easy to use to with a single potentiometer on it!

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Cool. Thanks Guys. I already have the Boss FRV-1. That's my "set and forget" pedal for my surf tone! I did notice a bit of a volume drop when I use it with distortion, so I was just looking for a nice reverb pedal that wouldn't effect my tone or volume. Just add "air", then set it to something i like, and just keep it there.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Maybe impedance issues between the Reverb and Distortion? Could try a buffer between the 2 pedals. I've been dealing with that a bit - even with the Strymon product.

I've used the Lee Jackson one - should be able to get it pretty cheap used.

If on a budget, The Boss would be on top of my list. Its still no Fender Reverb tank though.

I'm using the distortion from my amp. Not a pedal though. I'll check out the Lee Jackson reverb then.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

My best guess is to use something that's designed to work at line level - some of those have issues too, like digitizing the dry signal.

I ran my Fender tank through my effects loop a long time ago. Sounded OK, but acted a little weird at times as I remember. A mixer setup might also do the trick(?) but thats likely more than you spent for the pedal.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

The Hardwire RV-7 claims to work just fine in the loop.

I have several and so far the RV-7 is my favorite for nice clean and quiet deep verb ambiance. It inhabits the board for my Marshal and sounds absolutely FANTASTIC through the loop on my 1990 MK III JCM 900 Dual master ( which has NO clean channel):fing2:.

I am running a JCM900 MkIII as well... Nice to see another user besides the Marshall Amp Forums :fingersx: I might have to try one of those Hardwire units out. I know their DL-8 sounds great... I still say the Hermida Audio Reverb is worth looking at!

I have a line 6 Verbzilla which I love, but the Holy Grail seems to get a lot of attention by those who use it.
