Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I also use the Verbzilla and it's a great pedal...I love the TC stuff and am actually leaning more towards the Hall Of Fame these days to replace it...The TC has more tonal options that I need/like in a reverb pedal.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I am running a JCM900 MkIII as well... Nice to see another user besides the Marshall Amp Forums :fingersx: I might have to try one of those Hardwire units out. I know their DL-8 sounds great... I still say the Hermida Audio Reverb is worth looking at!

I will tell you something else that sounds GREAT through the loop on the MK III amps and is DIRT cheap. That is a Berringer Reverb Machine.
I'm running it here in the loop with my MK III from yesterday at Church.
For $50 shipped off Amazon it's a KILLER deal and works very well in the loop on these amps:fing2:!

^^^Regarding Behringer pedals....
I have a DR400 (Dly/Rvb) and it does have a great sound and is very inexpensive. There is however, one problem. I've used it with several amps and with some, it is very noisey giving a loud background sound of 'running water' when not playing notes. You take your chances with the Behringers.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Cheap I have the Digitech DigiVerb. It aint great and cant compare to the Hall Of Fame or Strymon but to add a little bit of room for under $50 it goes alright.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I have owned the Verbzilla, BlueSky, Space, currently owning (and loving!) the stereo Wet. But I use it for huge ambient pads. For your use, I'd probably look into the Hall of Fame, it's fantastic for the price.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Gotta try out that Hall of Fame then. Are any of these reverbs true bypass?

I would not run the verb Machine in the front end on my Zinky however in the loop on my marshall and my jet city both it is dead quiet.

Cool. Thanks guys. I kinda leaning toward the Hardwire RV-7. Gonna go give it a try sometime this week.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I just ordered the Hall of Fame. I had the EHX Holy Grail with my old amp rig, it sounded great on clean, but I didn't like it with metal distortion, it seems delay is better suited for that.

Congrats! Let me know how the Hall Of Fame sounds with metal distortion.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

Another vote for the TC Hall of Fame. Its the same price point of the Hardwire RV-7. I own both and like the Hall of Fame better at this point in time. I also really like the Line 6 Verbzilla. Any of these will really give you what you are looking for. The advantage does go to the Hall of Fame just because you can download so many toneprints and some of those are just plain fantastic. More flexibility with the TC Hall of Fame.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

That's what I've been loooking at lately.... The TC Hall of Fame. Think I gonna get one. Waiting for a good deal on eBay or Craigslist.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

You know, once upon a time not so long ago, reverb was a tough find.

Then the Grail came along and it was awesome. That was followed by the Swiss Army Verbzilla. Then, the TC, and the Hardwire. And even the Boss Fender clone. A number of viable options to suit multiple tastes/needs.

Re: Reccommend me a Reverb Pedal

I just got the Hall of Fame last night. I like it alot, best reverb I've ever had, it's very transparent, doesn't color your tone. Matter of fact many times it's hard to tell it's on, you just notice your tone is alot more spacious (though I'm really trying it with the controls at 12:00). It has a very wide variety of reverbs as well, to go from Fender Spring to Hall and beyond. It's the first reverb with a Hall setting where I really felt I was in a concert hall, rather than sounding like an add on effect trying its best to emulate a hall but never getting quite there

It is much better for Metal tones than the EHX Holy Grail, but still, for Metal I prefer delay over reverb, if I'm going to use something for ambiance.
