I have an LTD Viper 256 and was wondering if switching from the original gold humbuckers to the AHB-1 blackouts is going to be difficult. Any tips?

The Viper 256's stock pickups are passive and not active, correct? If yes, then you also need to:

1) replace the stock pots with 25K value pots
2) replace the stock mono output jack with a stereo output jack
3) find a spot in the control cavity that is big enough to fit the 9 volt battery, and devise a way to keep the battery in there (probably velcro tape or even electrical tape).

So, to answer your question: nothing about that is necessarily hard to do - but it is more things that have to get done than just swapping out the pickups.

If you bought the set of blackouts new vs second hand, then it should include the pots, jack and other hardware you need - plus an instruction sheet that explains how to accomllish everything that i mentioned above.
