Recently came cross some money....

So I tried on a old pair of pants yesterday and ended up finding $1500 cash in my pocket. Turns out that I never deposited my roomates first and last month rent six months back and had completely forgotten about it..I was going to deposit it in a savings account that I don't monitor much, which is why I didn't notice the money was missing.

Anyways, it's shopping spree time. What kind of cool gadgets are out there to get? I'm probably going to get a MXR 10 band-eq. Any other cool pedals?

My current stuff:

EMG 81-81 loaded les paul
Highway 1 Strat -brown+maple board
Peavey Wolfgang USA + floyd
Podxt
Jstation

Help me shopping here..new pickups for the strat? Are there any cheap amp kits (to build) that are worth while, or just a tube pedal kit?? Any cool gadgets or pedals out there I should check out?

Yes, part of this thread is purely just to brag, but I'm looking for shopping ideas as well =).

Re: Recently came cross some money....

whoa!!

with $1500 you can just buy a new amp if you want.
just go check out the music stores and have fune, heck you could even buy a new guitar!

Re: Recently came cross some money....

man, thats out of control who finds $1500 bucks in an old pants pocket. Think if you were to be a good citizen and have donated those pants to the salvation army or something. WHOA

Re: Recently came cross some money....

I'll buy your OLD pants from you for $50! yes your raggedy old smelly pants. How can you pass that up?

Re: Recently came cross some money....

Seriously, if you don't know what you need then you don't really need it. Why not hold on to the cash until you have a genuine need instead of **$$ing it away on something somebody else thinks is cool? JMO, but you did ask.

Re: Recently came cross some money....

its prbly a good idea to hold onto the money......

but....

get some duncans for that strat of yours. and the peavey needs duncans too. so does the paul, sell the emg's

you could also trade up some gear, or find some really nice used stuff, and still have some $$ to tuck away for later on.

look for cool used stuff, for 1500 u could get a super sweet "boutique" amp or similar, or a vintage guitar.

tube amp though, i just got my first, i will NEVER go back. get a nice amp, you dont have to go overboard with a bogner or a diezel or a dr.z or a vintage jtm. get yoursself a solid (used if u want) tube amp that will suit ur needs well, wether thats a 1/2 stack, or a 15w 1X12 combo is for you to decide. The amp will affect your sound most, and since you already have a few sweet axes, get an amp.

i wasn't looking to spend all of it, i was just looking to kill some GAS that why i don't go do something stupid and buy a amp that i can use...etc.

bad news though, i was just told my job's being moved over seas in six months. ironic huh?

Re: Recently came cross some money....

I would get a Peavey XXX and a 4x12 cab. Man it would sound great with your LesPaul and Wolfgang. My screams bro.

Re: Recently came cross some money....

You seem a fan of the modelling route... i'd get an EQ of some sort, the more bands the better.

Word around the Line6 forums is that the POD stuff really 'opens up' with some post-EQ...

Other than that, buy an amp head...

i was waiting for a 'replace all of your pickups with duncans' :) . that's what i get for posting here.

i realized that this thread makes me look stupid becuase i had a wad of cash, no job in a few months, and don't even know what to buy....

i promise i was only looking for a few cool ideas, maybe new products or just things i haven't seen before. i probably won't spent more than $200 total.

If your job is going overseas, then so is your home(not unless you quit). If you move with it, I would keep every penny.

this probably sounds like bs here. basically i could move overseas, but they are paying $3 a hour for 10 hr shifts, 6 days a week. they'll be flying me out to bulgaria next month for a few months to train replacements.

i wish we could keep money here in the usa, or at least america. i drive a domestic, buy american made guitars, and here i am training people in another country to replace us jobs =\

ok back to gear talk!
