recommend a flying v for metal for under $700?

Re: recommend a flying v for metal for under $700?

I don't know why people are suggesting fixed bridge guitars. First post clearly states preferably with a Floyd Rose.
"It's the Internet! We don't HAVE to pay attention!"

Used Jackson RR5(FR)s can be in the $700 price range if you shop used.

I got the MIJ RR5FR Pro new, with giant SKB case, no blem, for $399.99, shipped last May from Musician's Friend. Claimed MSRP was at the time over $2200. Of course, I have no earthly use for an axe like this, but I can't resist a deal.

My point here is that if you shop hard, you can get incredible deals.

If you don't shop hard, you'll waste a whole lot of money unnecessarily that you'll never, ever see again come resale time.

Shop hard. Buy smart.

Another vote for the Dean VMNT. I have three and love them all.

If your friend is playing rhythm, WTF is he stuck on a Floyd for??? Even for lead work, a Floyd is hardly necessary. Actually - never mind. Sounds like something I would have wanted in high school too.

The neck profile on the VMNT was what basically sold me. Just a joy to play. The rest of the guitar is great as well and doesn't get in the way. Apparently they look cool too. ;)

Just so you know, a Floyded VMNT is available as well.

Check out the Rob Flynn Baritone V from Epi. I bought one, and changed out the stock pups for Mick Thomson Blackouts. It's pretty sweet.
