Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

btw.....google a software called g tune.....it's free.......the ultimate tuner I've ever came across....you can see how strobe tunning is meant to be done with it.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

TU-2 user here, never had an issue. Gigged with it, rehearsed with it, i would buy another if i lost it.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

I've had a TU2 for about 6 or 7 years now. Never had a problem with it

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

Another TU-2 devotee here. Does everything I need. Easy to use in a gigging environment.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

I skipped all the replies, but +1 on the Strobo Stomp. I had a TU2 and sold it muy pronto once I got the Peterson. I know it's expensive, but it's beyond accurate. Intonating with this sucker is so easy now. I'm completely sold on it.

Is the TU-2 true bypass like the Strobo?

No, it's buffered like most (all?) Boss pedals. But I can hear absolutely no difference between it being in or out of my signal chain. The buffereing may compensate for the extra cable.

^I let go of my peterson strobostomp. It had these weird artifacts thing displayed on the screen at times, eats 9v batteries like nothing and tuning with it is an absolute pain despite what they advertised. FYI....I know how to use a strobe tuner properly and have infact use a old strobe tuner to tune my sister's piano. The peterson jumps around too much while tunning too....a true pain in the A$$ especially whdn you need to tune live in front of people. If peterson truly delivered a product that they advertised, it would've been killer.

Wow, I've experienced none of those negatives with the Strobo. Once I got used to it, I find it very quick and easy to use, even live. I do use a Godlyke, so no battery problems. I love the fact you can power other pedals off of it and use it as a direct box for acoustics, use it to intonate, etc.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

The Peterson Strobostomp is the best by far. It's much more accurate than anything else in stompbox form on the market. Most people just don't know how to use the device properly and there is a slight learning curve, but once you get it down, it is nothing short of amazing. I will not use anything else after using it, I love having my guitar perfectly tuned everytime (with stuff like the TU-2... it's only accurate to 3 cents, so it will show perfectly in tune, but play one chord and you'll know it's off).

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

Ditto...I used my old Korg tuner last night, hit a chord and cringed. Broke out the peterson, and perfect. I love that thing. Perhaps the best money I have spent for a pedal. You don't know how much of a difference it makes.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

Korg DT10 best tuner ive ever used rock solid and quiet as.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

Yup, the DT10 is one heck of a tuner. Presice, cheap, and bulit like a rock :)

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

+1 to the Peterson . . . I've only been able to use one once, but I was very impressed with its accuracy . . .

+1406. The Peterson Strobostomp is the best tuner you can buy IMO. No question worth the dough.

Re: Recommend a good tuner pedal please.

I was going to buy 2 rack tuners but, bought the Peterson Strobostomp and it works for ALL of my setups so it actually saved me money. Very happy with it. I've had it over 4 months now and only changed the batteries twice so far (had about 5 gigs and 12 rehearsals besides regular bedroom use and guitar setups).

With that being said, if it's not in your budget... the TU-2 is in A LOT of Pro's pedalboards including Bucketheads' who I said last Thursday.
