Recommend a neck humbucker pickup

Nmoc strat

Hi

I'm looking for some recomendations on a cool neck humbucker for a super strat I'm in process of putting it to play. I'm getting an Ibanez RG HSH, and I'm planing on doing some mods, most likeling the pickups. For the bridge, most likely the TB4 JB, as it is my favorite bridge pup, and I have it in other 3 super guitars, a Fender super strat, a Jackson, and an Epiphone Les Paul.

But for the neck, I'm not looking for the traditional match, say a 59 or a Jazz (I love the 59, have it on the LP), but for this one, I want something a bit more agressive sounding for the neck, I want those screaming lead Metal tones, something more hotter, and modern sounding.

What pickups are currently in the guitar? And what about them do you want more/less of?

Another vote here for the Screamin Demon.

I'd possibly nudge against the JB for the Ibanez. I've had a couple of Ibanez and the JB tends to sound a little low-end heavy in them to my ears. I'd maybe nudge towards a full shred set. It's what i have in my RG2570z (cool rails in the middle position) and I really like it. The pickup set just really fits Ibanez guitars - and that was after a lot of trial and error.

Seems like people here give JB too much credit for Versatility , I Disagree with them

+1 on the Demon, makes a great neck pickup.

If you want something bright and hot for leads only, the DiMarzio Super II might be worth a look. I generally don't like my neck pickups that hot nowadays, but I used to have a Super II at the neck in a Kramer and it gave really good lead tones.

Me too. But I also say live with the stock pickups for awhile and see if there is a problem you need to correct.

I agree with this. Many guitars these days have very nice stock pickups that are interesting because they have a somewhat unique voicing compared to the other "typical" replacement pickups that people by. If you like them at all, live with the stockers for at least a month or one string change first.
