Re: Recommend me a 1-trick heavy pony guitar?

well i know you said no used or ebay but this isn't ebay and the guitar is mint lol any intrest in my ibanez dtx destroyer...it has a dimarzio tone zone in the bridge and does metal great...i never play the thing anymore and was going to trade it in to guitar center or put it up on ebay but if you have any intrest i'd sell it for way under the $300 you want to spend...

xssive - i think every pic i have seen of your guitars has given me instant GAS... and i dont even like ibanez's, so this time i am impressed.

gamera - imo you would be a fool not to take xssive up on his deal. that guitar has looks to kill. if you dont, somebody else will.

I agree. Mike's 3 tone with Mirror pickguard is my favourite look EVER.

Mmmm...it is tempting. But it's a dark red, not bright enough to stand out in the shadows. And the guitar I now use for my heavy stuff is that same color. It's an old Aria that's kind of a pointy Strat wannabe. And with the Invader and HS-3's it gets plenty heavy. Second from left:

I know color is sort of a petty reason but my whole purpose for wanting this guitar is petty. From a musical standpoint it'll be "all show, no go." Having said that I think I've pretty much convinced myself that I'd be happy with the white Epiphone Flying V. The V shape is both radical and classy in a tried-and-true sort of way. And white is a color that won't fade into the shadows onstage.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions but I think my next course of action is to check out all the local stores for a white (or light-colored) Flying-V. New, used, whatever. Then once I get that I'll figure out what Duncans I need to toss in it to make it sound as flashy as it looks. ;)
