Recommend me a combo amp for 80's metal

You heard it right ... it gotta be a combo (due to my aging back). Gotta be loud enough to be heard over a lousy 80's style drummer but not too loud (due to my aging hearing). Gotta have enough gain (to hide my lousy play).

Rect-o-verb? F-50? XXX?

I'd say an XXX 1x12 60 watt combo, as the crunch channel and the clean channel share eq's on the 40 watt model, and the crunch channel is the best channel on the amp!

Or a 5150 2x12, but the sucker's like 85 pounds.

5150 combo, Marshall Super lead,

dunno which id choose, but im using a 5150 and couldent be happier. but a 5150 wont hide lousy playing, quite the opposite, but you would be hard pushed to find an amp with more gain available.
