Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

BOSS DD-3

I've owned a couple, and I have never wished to own any other type of delay pedal, works great for all of my applications.

Rock On - kac

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

Thanks fellas. I was looking at DD-3's onine last night....

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

Maybe not a delay, but I use and love the DanEcho pedal....Very warm and analog sounding in a nice ole late 60s kinda way...

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

Can't go wrong with the Boss DD-3, great bang for the buck!

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

I really like the Digitech Digidelay pedal. Besides standard delays it has a tape echo simulation, chorused delay and a few other functions. I've had mine for about a year and I've gigged with it on an average of once or twice a month without any problems. Reasonably priced, too.

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

Matt,

Ask yourself a few important questions...

-Crisp/clean digital delay or dirty/funky analog delay

-How much delay time do you need (you can get far more delay time with digital)

-what kinds of other features do I need/want

-price range

As a reference, I'm looking to capture the sound of the beginning of "Welcome to The Jungle"

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

I used to swear by the DD-3 until I bought an Ibanez DE-7.

The DE-7 has fantastic digital but an even better and warmer sounding analog delay. I've heard it's not actually "analog" but that the approximation is extremely close. Regardless of that, the analog mode on that pedal is where it's at. Plus, the digital delay part has great clarity, isn't very metallic sounding (like the DD-3), and can be used for all kinds of cool quasi-looping effects.

Since your request for a delay is based on one song I'd say go for the Boss DD-3 but if you're looking for versitility and a better sounding delay down the road go for the Ibanez DE-7.

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

I quite fancy getting the line 6 echo. 3 types of delay plus 3 types of tap tempo, sounded really good too.

Re: Recommend me a good delay pedal

Boss DD3. I had the DD5 and replaced it with the better sounding DD3.
