Hey guys, I have a US Fender tele with a maple fret board. Its currently running a SD Quarter Pounder in the Neck pos, and a SD Hot Rails in the Bridge pos, 500k CTS pots.
I love the QP in the neck, its staying. It has loads of spank, is very musical, has good output, and has really sweet highs.
The Hot rails I'm growing less fond of though.. It has very high output and sounds solid, but its like the treble is permanently wound down on it and it just lacks the sweet highs that the QP has. I'm certain there's nothing wrong with it as I've had it in there for several years now and while I used to like that it took the ice-pick out of my JCM800 nicely, my tastes have now changed and I'm playing more lower gain stuff, through various amps (AC30, Fender Blues Jr, and the JCM800). I play bluesy kinda stuff that weighs more towards a rhythm style playing than anything too elaborate. Think SRV or Hendrix, not Satriani or Vai
SO - can anyone recommend me a bridge pickup that will pair well with the QP neck, and maintain some clear and sweet highs? I'd almost like something that was 'hi-fi' if thats such a thing. My web research tells me I may be best to get something with A3 magnets as these are apparently quite clear through the tone spectrum, including the high notes, though I have no experience with them so I'll happily take some advice/opinions!
