Recommend me an amp switcher pedal

Re: Recommend me an amp switcher pedal

Looking for a decent pedal for A/B switching between two amps. I have an old black Morley one which is noisy and picks up radio stations.

Whatchagot for a brother?

Thanks - Matt

Those black Morleys get killed here, but I've had two of them that had no noise but they did have some bleed from the amp that was off at the moment. Since I used it mostly for both amps at once, I didn't care but it could be a pain when one amp was on for a nice clean tone.

+1 This is what im doing now to connect 2 amps. but would like to do 3.

I get some serious ground loop hum though, when I run my 80's Ibanez Chorus to 2 amps ? ... what am I doing wrong ?

You don't need an A/B box.

Just wanted to point out that if you use any kind of stereo pedal (reverb, chorus, delay...whatever)in your rig and if it's the last pedal in the pedal chain, you can drive two amps with the two left/right outputs of that pedal.

A stereo chorus works GREAT for that!

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do, go clean and dirty. I was surprised when it picked up a radio station. I noticed it also took something away as far as gain and top end.

Re: Recommend me an amp switcher pedal

I had the Morley for years and I dealt with the noise & the bleed as best I could, but it was a pain. It finally died so I replaced it with the Loopmaster A/B/Y with LED's. It was extremely quiet, but I was still getting some ground loop hum. I just put a HumX on each amp and now the noise has been reduced by about 80%.

The Lehle is probably the best one out there. The Radial unit which is about 75$ does not have Led's so its hard to tell which amp is on or off. I almost pulled the trigger on the Lehle but decided to get the Loopmaster (59$) so even with adding the HumX it was cheaper and it is working fine.
