recommend pups

what do you guys recommend for a Gibby LP Standard..........(pups, caps, pots). For biting blues type playing and 80's type rhythm work.

I want a raw, biting, off the handle, screaming PAF tone that can also be tamed when needed. The usual requirements; no mud, articulate, decent highs etc....

Sounds like you are describing a Pearly Gates neck and bridge my friend. The Custom 5 bridge and pearly gates neck will work well also. I personally would go with the Custom 5 and Pearly gates neck. The C5 will do the 80's stuff a bit better in my opinion. For pots, 500K cts and for caps, .022 Sprague orange drops.

The PG bridge cant pull off the 80's as well as the C5. I am the one growing the mullett, I should know the 80's!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

The will both be a fine choice though.
