Recommendations for a good delay pedal

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

I want to add some depth to my lead sound. Know of a good one that won't break the bank?

YUP :smokin:

. . . but it depends how big your Bank is !

* At the bottom of the price list, but still an uBER-COOL unit, is the allmighty Ibanez DE7 !
Great vintage tones with the echo unit on and has 2.5 sec delay, and can self oscilate like no other !

* Then we have the DMM - nuff' said !

* I also fell in love with the Carl Martin DeLayla XL, and is on my MUST HAVE List !

* Right at the top of my Gas-list is the H&K Replex. Kinda pricy, but still way cheaper than a MOOG Delay !

All of these units, you can listen to, on Musicain Friend's site too !

Hope this helped !

You'd probably have good luck with a Rocktron Short Timer. It's cheap and sounds great. I think you can get them on ebay for around fifty bucks.

I must know thy budget before I can properly suggest an appropriate sound enhancement device for thy rig, good sir.

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

I think Boss delays sound great. But for that price, consider a new Ibanez DE7, new Rocktron Short Timer, or a used DigiTech DigiDelay.

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

Well, I want quality also. Maybe I can get used gear. Cost aside, I'm mainly just wanting opinions from owners or people that have tried them.

..ehh I have a Rocktron Short Timer I'll sell you for $40, I used it twice and then I got the DD-20 and don't really need two delays... I don't really use delay that much these days.

The pedals listed are all quality pedals. I have Short Timer sitting on my pedalboard right now and it is a great pedal at any price. I also agree that saving up for a BOSS isn't a bad idea.

The DD-3 is a great box, in fact I thought very seriously about getting one, but ended up with the Line 6 DL4 because I wanted a few different sounds.

I'm having fun with the Carl Martin "Red Repeat" I got for Christmas

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

I think Boss DD-3 is your basic digital delay pedal. Reliable and reasonably priced.

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

Any of the older boss pedals are great delays . . . DSD-2, DSD-3, PS-3, PS-2, DD-3, DD-2, DD-5, etc. just keep looking for one to show up in your price range . . .

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

The DigiTech has almost identical features as the Boss DD-6, so it's awesome for the price. But Bosses delays are a lot more refined.

Re: Recommendations for a good delay pedal

the rocktron stuff is pretty good for the $$$ i really like my Tsunami...it's a delay/chorus-ambience pedal!
