Recommendations for a Wiring/Mod Book...an actual paper book.

Hey All,
I am looking for a bench reference/learning tool with plenty of illustrations and photos as opposed to just schematics and physics. I am a visual learner and do best with step-by-step instructions and good pictures or drawings. I do want to know the "whys," but that can be in another section or even another volume.
I realize that a lot of this stuff (all of it actually) is available online in various places, but I like books and I don't want to have to have a tablet or laptop with me while I'm working.
I see some online that get pretty mixed reviews, so...figure I'll ask you all.
I have all sorts of guitars, so one book or a few is cool. I already have the Erlewine book, but that's an all-around sort of reference. I'm looking for PUP's, wiring, mods, and maybe pedals. No amp stuff...I leave that to braver folk.

Which Erlewine book do you have? Chances are, it offers a selection of stock circuits for well-known designs rather than delving deeply into custom wiring.

Truth be known, most "trick" wiring is just combinations of elements from several conventional circuits. You just need to mix and match those that are relevant to your specific instrument.
