Recommendations for PRS Standard 22

Hey there!

I have a Paul Reed Smith Standard 22 (satin finish)

Specs: Mahogany body, 25" scale, mahogany neck w/ rosewood fretboard, non-trem, and stock dragon ii pickups.

Specifically I'm looking for alt-rock/metal tones with nice cleans.

Maybe stoner rock-ish (Tool, Qotsa, etc) so no uber-high-gain but definitely some crunch and fuzz, which should clean up somewhat nicely.

Was thinking of a 59 in the bridge, not sure about neck.

The stock dragon ii pickups leave alot to be desired for me personally (sterile and lifeless) so I really want something versatile but voiced differently.

Any suggestions are totally welcome! Thanks!

'59/custom hybrid in the bridge, and maybe a Jazz in the neck. (I'd suggest a Seth Lover for the neck, but I don't have experience with it and I don't know how picky you are about noise) That's what I would put in it if I wanted the tone you described.

THe PGn is my go to option with a 59b in PRS or other mahogany set neck guitars. It balances pretty well and is less muddy and more articulate than the 59n. The Seth neck is also damn good

Why would the Seth have a problem with noise?

59/custom hybrid bridge would be sweet for sure

with nice overdrive roll the tone down, and you got a nice QOTSA stoner rock tone
