Recorded A Little With My Bass

This is a quick little line I was working on. It is nowhere near a final product.

My Fender 5 string straight in. I added a little bass after it was recorded. I purchased a Bass POD Xt so I will do some more recording once that gets here.

At the start of the song I was suppose to hit 4 G's then start, but I started on Gb instead so I made it into a Jail House Rock thing. I really didn't feel like stopping at starting over.

I've noticed some fret buzz, its from my not holding the string down hard enough or I end up fretting on the fret. I'm use to playing .08's on a guitar so I'm not totally use to the bass yet.

I played the whole thing with my fingers, no picks, and no slapping.

Lets see I did pictures and now clips so it looks like I have fullfilled my forum requirments after purchasing a new guitar. LOL

Tell me what you think,
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Recorded A Little With My Bass

good sound, but the fact that you are not used to bass yet is showing a little. get some more power to your picking fingers. otherwise i like it and that bass sounds great.

Yeah that is one area I do need to work on as well. I'm use to lightly pick, but I need to hammer the strings! All it time...

Re: Recorded A Little With My Bass

the same happened to me when i first jammed playing the bass. My fingerpicking was to soft(i'm used to playing flamenco with very fast finger picking on nylong strings) and i had problems being heard, but with times your fingers will become like iron claws ;)

I did another version. I'm working on turning it into a song.

I slowed the tempo down a bit and rerecorded the line then I looped it. When I get the entire song writen I will go back and delete the loops and make a new track.
