Re: Recorded a looong solo with my old Les Paul-SG -61 - PAF-content
Thanks a lot.
The improvisation is called "Phoksundo", and that is a lake on the highest altitude in the world, in Himalaya, Nepal. I´ve been in Nepal, but never at Phoksundo; photos of the lake shows an almost supernatural place. It takes days to get there from Kathmandu, so it´s a place I probably will never reach - if you understand the metaphore.
The solo is built with a quite simple scale, but, as you all know, playing a simple melodic raga scale can soon be boring, so I sometimes leave that scale to get a more nervous approach - I play against the background, so to say - but soon return to the more harmonic style.
As said: I used only the neck PAF-pickup, and a Boss OD3 and Boss CH1, into my Blues Deville, and it´s a "live"-recording in the studio - no audience, but we all improvised it in one take.
