What is an easy and inexpensive way to record keyboard into a PC with Cakewalk Pro Audio?

Re: Recording Keyboard

Get a midi controller and use the internal sounds. Maudio makes some great ones. I have the axiom 61 and love the pads as well. Very good for triggering BFD or other drum stuff. You could also get a guitar synth and just record everything midi and mess with different sounds either via a sound module externally or the internal synth sounds on your sound card or sampletank etc.

Re: Recording Keyboard

I am happy with the keyboard sounds I have, I just need to get them to the computer.

Re: Recording Keyboard

can you just take the audio out of the keyboard (1/4" line out) into your soundcard's line-in port? ... you'll probably need a cable / adaptor that fits the 1/8" input on the soundcard
.. i am pretty sure that it is not hard to set the input device that cakewalk 'sees' to be the soundcard line-in

god luck

Re: Recording Keyboard

Recording a keyboard is easier than tying your shoes. Plug the output of your keyboard into the input of your sound card, hit Record, slam out a Procul Harem tune, hit Stop.
