recording: "Lenny" for u SRV fans

Re: recording: "Lenny" for u SRV fans

That's really good! The main thing that got me on this recording was the panning. Pan less/ not so hard, it sounds to separated having you on the left and the backing track on right only.

Your tone is really good, what gear were you using? The playing was really good as well, at the very beginning it kinda sounded a bit "sterile" almost...but as the track went on it soudns like you relaxed and just played, which is great!

Good job! Can;t wait to hear more!

This is a great recording. All the work you put into learning this song really shows!

i used my jap strat in the fourth pos (stock pups). Yea, i see what u mean with the sterile sound in the begining, i never really used my whammy bar, that would have helped.

as for an amp i used my roland cube 60. such a little beast of an amp. i used the blackface moddel with tons of verb.
for the whole recording i used the same settings on everything, just using dynamics to get harsher or softer tones.

yeah, the panning this wasnt on purpose. for some reason every time i record things alway come out of the left speaker. im not to savoy with the software i use (audition), but i get around it. if anyone knows how i can fix this, let me know.

actually this song is the reason i ever wanted a strat. i went into a store and the owner was playing it on his '69 strat thru his super reverb. I was amazed. i knew the song but i was hooked from then on.
