Recording Question.....

What would you recommend as an interface to record on my computer that would allow me to record my JSX's tone and not some insert. My amp has a line out in back or would a mic sound better. Any response will be appreciated.

Re: Recording Question.....

There are a ton of interfaces in all price ranges from a Toneport and M-Audio stuff up to much more expensive. Toneports work really well imo. A mic will sound better in most cases if you can get the amp at a good volume. Rid gets pretty good tone going direct with his signal chain and PODs, Vox's aren't the worst thing in the world.

Re: Recording Question.....

Will those allow me to record the JSX distortion instead of the overdrives they offer? Sorry I've played guitar for 16 years and I'm just starting out with computer recording.

Re: Recording Question.....

If the JSX has a line out you can run it direct into an audio interface or you can mic the amp and run it into an audio interface - both will get your amps sound into your computer.
