Re: Recording so i can post clips..how?
That's all I do Mr wolf. I don't have a pod, I've got a DigiTech RP100 ... same thing, really. I also have a little Alesis Mixer that goes between it and my laptop, but I'm sure the pod will go straight in. I take the out from the RP100, go into the mixer, then I take a guitar lead out of the mixer, and I bought a little adaptor from Tandy Electronics. It converts from guitar lead jack to the little one that plugs into the side of my laptop. I don't use a soundcard.
The mixer is a neat little Alesis Multimix6FX. It's 4 channel, got a bunch of reverbs, delays, choruses you can add if you like. Somewhere around $100.
For recording, I have CoolEdit Pro, which is now called Adobe Audition, I believe. Not expensive, very easy and intuitive to use. You work away in it, then save the file as Mp3. Then you upload to an account at Soundclick or similar. They make it extremely easy to do that.
It's all very crude but it works for me. One day I'll get the real thing going.
It sure is fun! Here's a recent experiment with the slide:
