Recording with GNX4 and Mixer, I NEED HELP!

I need some advice, i currently have a GNX4; which is an amazing and very versatile processor also very reliable. what i am having a problem with and the manual is not helping me much is using a mixer with the processor. I am on a very limited working mans budget, i don't have thousands to through into gear. i normally run my guitar through a pedal board thing into the GNX4 which is set to have no effects on it so it is a strait signal into my laptop on to audacity, which i get very clear and studio grade sound from. i have no problem doing the guitar and bass this way.

i am looking to get a mixer to record drums with. would i just run the mics into the mixer then run the output from the mixer to in the inputs on the processor and work it the same as i do for guitar? would this work? i have never recorded with a mixer so i really don't know much about them, and anyone with a GNX4 knows the manual doesn't explain it enough.

Hope someone can help.

thanks

with my GNX 3000
I use the iN's to bring in separate instruments with out processing
although I haven’t tried it for drums
the built in loops it has are fine with me
and the included software has a programmable drum machine

yea thats what i have been using for a few years, although you just can't play the song the way you would with live drums when your using the built in drum loops. which is why i am looking to do live drums. to do a rough recording it does work great though.
