Cool song. Vox could use some tuning, but I loved the riffing for sure!
You have not been able to find musicians that want to play your songs?

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

thanks brutha! I did not notice the tuning prob until the next day after I finished it all but I am biased and did not really think much of it till now lol

thanks for the constructive criticism, its cause I turned up the vocals loud in my personal monitor mix so I could not hear the guitars, Im glad you pointed that out so I dont do it on my next tune.

in 2015 I spent $1000 renting a studio for 5 months to try to form a band, and 2016 I was in a band for 3 months. I have not tried to rejoin a band, just doing other stuff lately and working on singing technique, I gotta keep rockin!!! :headbang:

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

I hear ya! I have been casually gathering muscians for the live lineup of As Follows, but I am not going crazy. If it works out, it works out, but I am not going to sideline the primary focus -- studio albums -- to form another live band that will be dead after six months and nothing to show for it. Sounds jaded, but I am keeping my priorities straight this time! :)

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

I agree with you on every aspect of that, cheers :beerchug:

Im thinking cover band for me will be next, I need to take big actions to make it happen so I need to shoot for a big goal like the best cover band

I thought I would take more than average efforts to make it happen, but there are so many variables to successful bands. really 10 times the effort is needed, and I need to shoot for 10 times the goal I originally set, in order to get psyched up to do it! :)

I am focusing on career stuff right now, just doing vocals and a little drumming daily though

just bought melodyne today and did some vocal tuning on this song, so I edited my original post to update the song :)

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

Nice.
Music had a Red Fang vibe to it.

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

thanks brutha! I love red fang, great new album they have out.

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

thats bad f****** azz. Are u gonna have an album out, i would definitely buy it.

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

Well, the Melodyne worked a treat! Could still use some work on the drag, but the pitch correction sounds much improved.

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

rock on! Thanks for the listen and the insights, Ill look into that on the drag. I watched a user's youtube video for 3 minutes after buying the $100 software and then adjusted 10 notes, really intuitive software :)

Cool tune, very "complete." Would be interesting to hear the chorus with two vox tracks - not a harmony, two takes of the same thing.

Sucks the band thing didn't work out. Maybe a bandcamp solo project with a pay-what-you-want download? I think it's a cool format for checking out unsigned bands. I just bought my friend's band's EP on there, and after that stuck around to check out other stuff - I was surprised how many good things there were. I'd rather give my $$ to real people ya know?

Ill have to try that chorus deal, never tried it before. Bandcamp could be cool! good idea. I have time to make a song a week so Ill just batch em all up and maybe mix em down a bit prolly for my first try at the album thing. I just started recording originals with drums and singing so Im glad its going good, thanks :)
Has a strong 70's vibe to me.
Rock on!!! :headbang:

Re: "Red Mountain" (my new doom metal song, youtube, soundcloud)

For the first listen I am sure that you'll be able to improve much as you develop recording skills, vocals and you discover yourself more - but the greatest thing in it that it's completely working fine for me. The song has balls and I really like the tones and the atmosphere that was created.

Keep on doing the good stuff!

I'm sorry to hear that your band forming efforst were not successful but don't worry: being a one-man band has its great advantages, too. It gives much more freedom than running a wagon full of compromises. Other than that, if the music finds its target audience and starts to work in an another level, finding members for a running project is always easier.

If you lived in Finland I'd definitely join your band!

Great tune, great playing!
