Tried that a few years ago, just doesn't work for me. The stock pickups and the tuners suck.
And the finish feels more like plastic than the polyurethane clearcoat I put on!

I get it though, sometimes modding is more of a hobby for me than playing - and I am definitely better at modding

It's not supposed to. I'll probably find out eventually. If I ever did start selling these, I wouldn't fill the cavities or anything, I'd just refinish them and swap the electronics and tuners.

My gf has her hobbies, I have mine. We stay out of each others' way.

Do you use wet/dry paper on all your finishes to get a nice glassy finish? That takes a while and a lot of elbow grease.
