Hi guys,
I haven't been here for a long time... because of my work, and my funny hobby - guitar rebuilding.
Now I have a problem... especially with pickup selection... but I need to tell you everything before getting to the point.
So...
I have bought a used 30 YearsOLD Mayones guitar (Polish small manufacture - handcrafting).
In a really not good conditions:

I have reconstructed it and decide to do new fretboard - old one was... too vintage :)

I have laminated new fretboard from carbon fibres (as I am engineer working in composite institute in Germany - Leichtbau und Kunststofftechnik Institut, TU Dresden).

I have done also refreshing of every hardware part of this guitar... and the like...
I have done new Inlays for fretboard... etc.

And I have decide myself to S-S-S config.

And here comes the questions :)....
How do you think:
1) what pickups should I use (I have choosen the Quarter Pound Flat for my bridge)
2) what do you think about my wiring diagram with multiconfiguration of pickup sounds.

Hardcore!

Dunno what suits you personally or what you want from it (vintage singleyness? rails/stacks for all humbuckers? mix?), but perhaps look at the coolest factory stock classic strat-style guitars that you like for hints?

Best strat I ever played was an ESP Vintage Plus, the config it comes with is highly recommended. Some kinda Duncans, google for specs.

Yea I am looking for some really single coil pups :)

QP flat on the bridge is there
on neck and middle i will at first leave this pickups which where there (but i don't like them - from the view - the sound I didn't check till now).

I don't really know what vintage single coil will I pick but mostly Seymour Duncan Is the most afordable in Poland (where I come from) and Germany (where I work and live now).
Maybe from seymour you will give me some tip??

Neck ist the most important (warm... i suppouse) - every suggestion I will appreciate :)

I really like the APS flats. Nice and stratty, but a bit warmer than normal onthe top end.

Ok, than I must check it out!
This Alnico II APS seems to be really nice...
I hope there will be more tips from You - maybe middle pickup discusion??

both of you are getting like from me - suggestions are pushing me toward good direction :)

Also, you might wish to decide in advance if you want a manufacturer-recommended "set", or to mix and match different elements in different positions

I will use QP flat in neck possition (If your all guys sugestions will not change my decision), so I suppouse we will match different elements,

hmmmm.... considering now about neck pickup :) some ideas??

In between I am making also old bass guitar from my brother - Washburn the chip one :) :) (but only lamination of top and bridge pickup puting)
we will se, I have almost finished both projects.

The carbon fibre over that loved and played in 30 year old neck makes me sad.

I totally can understand You.
There are pros and cons of CF-Resin composites.
Also this is a 30 years old guitar - for some of You my changes will be rather more desecration than development.

I can only write you that I have not only CF resin used but also I have reinforced the resin by special nano powder (containing Aluminium, Iron, Copper, Cobald and many others).
This will give me more rigid fretboard with nice look (my opinion).
I dont like single pieces necks - My opinion every neck should have a fretboard. This neck is one piece - with really thin CF-laminate reinforced by powdermetalurgy.
I hope You understand my view. I am the scientist I like to do something new :-).

Second point - this neck wasn't loved and played for 30 years and the fretboard was really destroyed - someone found this guitar in cellar and give it away.
I have taken it - and now I am working on it.

Hope you will follow my thread.

I am sorry buf full set of Quarter Pounders will never give me variability of sound as I like - also You need to take that these pickups have high resistance... 13kOhm
I will not go with 3 QP SSL-4
BUT!!!!
You get me to Idea to put in the neck SSL-7QP !!!! -THANKS- !!!!
.....
we still have some problem with middle pickup :)

No singlesized humbucker like JB Jr/ Lil Demon / SuperDistortionS in the bridge? Sure you dont want to move the two singles into mid & neck, and stick one of those in the bridge? Seems like THE versatility choice

Read a lot of surprised/angry buyers complaining Yngvie pups were NOT hot at all, more like pafs or something.... Not all metal guys use hot stuff. Remember being really confounded when I read that supposedly the reason there are 7string DiMarzio PAFs is that those dreadlocked crazy guys from Korn (of all people!) asked for such pickups to be created for their signature guitars. And here i thought they were complete hopeless idgits :-)
