Relic Question

Re: Relic Question

^^ then you´l need 2 cans and paper only up to 1000 grit.

Started off sanded to 400, then went immediately to the first 2 coats of clear. next day I sprayed 2 coats of black, about 2/3 the can (the rest is on the headstock or other projects). then after 2 days I wet sanded 600 /800 /1k, and sprayed one coat of clear. Next day another 600-1k sanding run and the final coat of clear. Then one more sand and off to the buffing wheel she went ;)

With mahogany the effect will probably be more pronounced due to the more open grain sucking up more finish, so a light filler washcoat or a third coat of clear off the bat may not be a bad idea...

Re: Relic Question

cool. I guess we'll see how it turns out. I haven't got the guitar in my hands yet as our schedules keep clashing. Should be sometime next week, and I'll place my orders.

Now, I've always used ReRanch stuff, but was thinking about doing stew mac. What are your opinions of the two?

Re: Relic Question

I´ve never used either because they aren`t allowed to ship corrosives, poisons or containers that can explode overseas, and these are all 3 :laugh2:

I use Motip or Duplicolor automotive lacquer ;)
