remake of an old tele.

I didn't refinishing it or anything but I did do quite a bit to this guitar. Some time ago I had Aaron, aka Blueline, make a tele body out of the lightest ash he could get his hands on. I had him put a GVCG neck on the guitar and a set of voodoo pickups. It was a perfect "refin 53". Well, almost perfect.

I received a few things today and I have been working on one other part to this guitar. I received a set of stuart blackguards and some glendale hardware. I will let you all know what I think of those things when I have played it for a few days. The biggest part of this remake is the new neck. I sourced some 100+ year old maple neck blanks and I have finished the neck for this guitar. it will no longer show the fender name and headstock but it will show the name of my own company, cleveland guitars.

I have all the appointments of a well aged blackguard (without the actual black guard). Let me know what you guys think, I will post a few pics later today once she is all back together.

Pics have been posted below.

Well, I can't very well tell you what I think without having seen it but I'm def. looking forward to it!!!

Whatever happened with those teles you were planning to build out of that century old piece of pine?

Re: remake of an old tele.

at that angle the headstock looks a lot like a tele, but next to one you can see it isn't :)

Re: remake of an old tele.

they are in there. I will let you know about them tomorrow. the wife will be gone and I will get to play more. I only played real soft tonight. They sound just like an old tele should. tomorrow I will really put them through the paces, I will crank that greer.

the glendale hardware is fantastic as always.

She's awful purdy! You selling this one or is this a keeper? Not looking to buy (my wife would kill me) just curious.

Re: remake of an old tele.

this one is a keeper, but I have three pine bodies that will be getting the same treatments. This one is actually dated 7-53 for my Dad. it is when he was born. Someday I might give it to him but for now it is my tribute to the man.
