Remove Strat hum with a pedal

I tried this using a Boss noise suppressor pedal, and it worked. But I was in a store with alot of outside noise so I couldn't get a good feel for the sound. Is this pedal a better way to preserve the strat tone with reduced hum? Or is it best to just buy a stack or little HB?

I'd have to agree.

I've used a strat with a noise gate before, and well, it killed my sustain.

It's fine for just jamming rhythms, but if you're playing lead on a strat, and then you get to that high note bend that you like to let burn, then suddenly it gets it's head chopped off...

If you just play rhythm, it's fine. But for leads, I'd stay away from it and just get a single coil-sized 'bucker.

Yeh, as I suspected. I have a lil 59 at the bridge right now but might prefer using single coils at the m&n. Here I can play lead with the 59 then step on the noise suppress pedal to play rythm with the m&n if necessary. Any better suggestions?

Since I usually play live and at least somewhat loud, I don't worry about noise!:fingersx:
