Removing NFB Loop on Ampeg AC-12

Greetings.... I want to bring my new/old Ampeg AC12 up to spec of the soon to follow GU12, in which the sole difference was the removal of the NFB, plus 2 tones instead of 1,..... But tone controls aside, just to put a lid on this baby, if I simply wanted to hear just how it sounds w/o the NFB, I could "interrupt" the wire from the spkr jack to the nfb R? And if I liked it, w/o any NFB, I could let it hang as is, perhaps just taping it off, & no other precautions necessary? Finally, let's say i want an on/off switch, is there any safety resistor I've heard tossed around, necessary? Please be as specific as poss...
Many thnx~ Screenshot_20240125_164554_Chrome.jpg

yes, you can just unsolder the wire from the speaker jack to disable nfb. on my '66 dr, i used the ground switch as a nfb on/off switch.
