Removing Tung oil finish from a body

With the plan to apply a stain and clear finish coat in auto acrylic.

How best to remove the oil finish so there is no contamination with
Stain, fillers, sealer and acrylic?

I'll sand the bulk of it off but do I need to use any spirits to get it all off?

Cheers, Will

haha tungsten.

I imagine sanding it off will be your best bet.

How thick is the coating of it?

G'day Raph, not too sure as I'm bidding on the body and only have the eBay pics to view.

Give my condolences to Godzilla and give your kids back their toys!!

Nah wait, maybe you can do a sequel with some bad ass Smurfs and Transformers?

Anything could happened when you get this baked.

Well i haven't used the tungsten carbide oil but i think i have seen people mention that it goes on thin like tru oil. So yeah i bet some time sanding with a few grades would be plenty enough.

Then build some sealer up and it should be sweet and dandy for the gun.

I was wondering what tungsten oil was...thought that must be some super heavy and a bear to get off

Been doing the same thing here recently. Acetone. Don't let it touch any plastic though.
