Repeat blowing of bass amp fuse?

Diminished Triad

I have a 300w Super Bassman by Fender - and it continues to blow two of the inner fuses. The outside/first fuse does not blow. The tubes remain in tact and are okay.....but further in there are apparently 2 fuses and it's those 2 fuses that continue to blow.

Anyone heard of such a problem? My amp tech is the one relaying his findings to me so I'm not personally familiar with the layout or problem.
Thanks!

Re: Repeat blowing of bass amp fuse?

Any tech worthy of the title tech can figure this one out, there are mains fuses then fuses for each pair of tubes, probably a screen resistor or something is failing... its like amp tech 101... if your "tech" doesnt have know why or propose a solution i suggest finding a new "tech"

Great to have this group available - at times worth more than a good tech!

Thanks!!!

Re: Repeat blowing of bass amp fuse?

I am Not Familiar with this amp...but probably filament and HT fuses are in play.
As mentioned above...this should not be hard for a tech to trouble-shoot.
But it is easy for us to judge from the safety of the key board. Wait for your tech to investigate, and see what he finds.

Most fender amps dont even have HT fuses but im not familiar with the Super bassman so maybe it does.

Re: Repeat blowing of bass amp fuse?

Most Fenders do not have 2 internal fuses.....so they have to be for Something.!
His tech will find out and then we will all know.....or we could look at a schem and end the suspense.
