Replaced OT In my 68 vibe Champ........................

I replaced my failed OT in my Vibro Champ with a Mercury Magnetics 55 Tweed OT. Unable to try it out because I am also converting a 2 prong to a 3 prong power cord and I still need to buy an eyelet terminal to crimp and connect to the power transformer mount bolt. I'll report back later when it is completed and tell you how it sounds.

I finished the tasks to my Vibro Champ and I must say the upgrades are well worth the time and effort. The amp sounds excellent. I did, however, ground the power cord to the power transformer mount bolt that I became aware too late that there should be a separate ground point. Oh well, I'll change it the next time I open up my amp.

Awesome! When I had my Bumbox Cielo worked on last year (JMP clone, internally jumpered) I had both transformers upgraded to Mercury Magnetics. We originally tried some vintage Marshall transformers but the MM just sounded better. Also took the tme to swap out the caps and some other compenents for more boutique parts (SoZo, Hovland). Totally transformed the amp!
